McKinney Chupacabras FC’s season opener is quickly approaching, and the club’s new coaching staff is already at work.

The Chupacabras held their first official training session on May 1, marking Head Coach Frank Yallop’s first day on the field with his new team. Yallop leads a six-member coaching staff and believes familiarity within the group will be key to success on the pitch.

Omar Holness serves as Yallop’s primary assistant coach and also leads the reserve team. Holness played for the Chupacabras last season and described the move into coaching as a “natural progression.”

“When the opportunity presented itself, I was happy to step into the room,” Holness said.

The Jamaican-born midfielder brings experience at both the domestic and international levels. He played collegiately at the University of North Carolina and was selected No. 5 overall by Real Salt Lake in the 2016 Major League Soccer SuperDraft.

The former Tar Heel said working alongside Yallop is a valuable opportunity.

“Who better to learn from than a guy who has been there and done that,” Holness said. “I’m grateful to be here learning under his wing. He’s a guy that has numerous trophies, endless cups, accolades and is just a great human being as well.”

Yallop also spoke highly of Holness, whom he previously had on trial during his time with Monterey Bay FC.

“He has a good soccer brain and wants to learn the trade,” Yallop said. “I think I can help him do that.”

Assistant coach Nazeem Bartman is another familiar face for Yallop. The South African native previously played in the United Soccer League for Vancouver Whitecaps 2 and faced Yallop’s Phoenix Rising FC side multiple times.

Bartman was selected by the Whitecaps in the fourth round of the 2017 MLS SuperDraft. The forward retired from soccer in December 2025 after spending four years with USL side Forward Madison. Across a 10-year career at the professional and semi-professional levels, Bartman appeared in 135 matches and scored 25 goals.

Josh Guidry serves as the club’s goalkeeper coach. A former U.S. Army Black Hawk pilot, Guidry spent more than 20 years in service. His coaching experience includes stops with Austin Emerald FC of Major League Indoor Soccer, the All-Army team, and the collegiate game. Guidry has spent 30 years in coaching and also played in what is now the USL.

David Gill serves as the club’s director of recruiting. He is also an assistant coach with the Texas Outlaws in the Major Arena Soccer League, working under Chupacabras scouting director Ed Puskarich. Gill also serves as the director of elite programs with the Texas Spurs.

Zeron Sewell rounds out the staff as an assistant coach and reserve team coach. Like Holness, Sewell is from Jamaica. He played collegiately at Virginia Commonwealth University, earning First Team All-Atlantic 10 honors as a senior. The center back also played for South Georgia Tormenta FC in USL League One.

Yallop’s staff brings decades of playing and coaching experience across MLS, USL, college soccer, arena soccer, international soccer, and the military. With the group now in place, Yallop is excited for the season to begin and focused on turning that experience into results on the pitch.

“Hopefully we can bring the fans a winning product on the field,” Yallop said. “It’s up to us to entertain them while trying to win games.”
