Chupacabras battle to the final whistle in thrilling home opener

In a high-energy home opener at Ron Poe Stadium, the McKinney Chupacabras came up just short, falling 4–3 to the Denton Diablos on Saturday night.

With the stands packed and the atmosphere electric, fans were treated to a full night of celebration - from a pregame block party to an autograph alley after the final whistle - as the Chupacabras played their first-ever home match.

Brayden Beason etched his name in the history books, scoring the club’s first-ever goal in the 28th minute. It was the lone goal of the first half for McKinney, who trailed 2-1 heading into the break despite a penalty save from Raul Torrez.

The Chupacabras continued to fight in the second half, with Carson Burden and Ian Arendse each finding the back of the net to keep the game close.

Though the Diablos ultimately came away with the win, McKinney showed relentless spirit, pushing until the final whistle with strong attacking runs and key saves that kept the crowd on its feet.
